There are four Little supermarkets / grocery stores in Caleta de Famara where you can buy needed  groceries  and Drugstore articles. While three supermarkets (Pic. 1,2,3) are located in the old part of Famara one is located in the new bungalow area called Urbania de Famara.

Big Supermarkets in Arecife

You’ll find big supermarkets like a Mercadona or Spar in Arecife. We suggest you to do shopping after arriving in Arecife and before heading to Caleta de Famara.

If there’s later a need for you to get to a big Supermarket (e.g. to buy 4kg of Langostinos for a fish BBQ) you’ll be there in approximately 25 min. from Famara.

Surf shops in Caleta de Famara

You can buy clothes like T-Shirts, hoodies, jackets, trousers, surf shorts, shoes, etc. and several accessoirs like caps, sunglasses, braclets, necklaces, etc.in the local surf shops. Of couse you get sports articles as well. You can buy your own wet suits, surf- skate and longboards, etc. and accessories. Most important is that you’ll get a sunscreen stick 50+ with Zinc whitch doesn’t go off while beeing in the water. Because of this reason this stick is recommended and used by the most Surf trainers.

Local

There is a local market in Teguise from 10 am to 2 pm  on every sunday. You’ll be able to buy craftmanship and sadly jumble aswell. But in the end it is worth a visit.

Marihuana & Haschisch

There are a few local “Cannabis Social Clubs” in Lanzarote. They sold Cannabis also to tourists until 2015. The shops in Famara, La Santa and Playa Honda are still opend but they only sell to residents and never more than 2 gr per Person. For tourists It’s prohibited to enter those Clubs. You can get more Information about that from your local surf trainer or the waiters in the Bars.
